DESCRIPTION: Large delicately colored original engraved example of a wind rose by J.B. Clouet. The 32 winds of the wind rose are each named in French, Italian, Latin, and Spanish (e.g. for the West wind: "Ouest", "Ponente", "Favonius Zephirus" and "Oeste"). This fine antique wind rose is surrounded on two sides by French text and measures 12 inches in diameter.
