DESCRIPTION: Small detailed etching of a large Dutch three-masted ship (Boot Schip) running with a heavy breeze from astern- the crew attending to the main top-gallant sail- probably reefing the sail due to the heavy weather. From a series of 84 engravings published in seven volumes from 1787 to 1791 by Gerritt Groenewegen (1754 - 1826): "Verscheide soorten van Hollandse Vaartuigen".

On chain-laid paper with a fleur-de-lis watermark. From volume E, number 8.
