DESCRIPTION: Map of the first Shand's Bridge over the St. Johns River in Florida from 1928. Map in folding brochure 18" x 6" with information on the Shand's Toll Bridge in the year of its opening. The bridge was conceived, financed and built privately by the St. Augustine Green-Cove Springs Bridge Company.

In 1928 the bridge was a toll bridge of wooden construction, except for the draw span. The current bridge, located just south of the old bridge, opened in 1963.
